On November 24, 2025, the South Kazakhstan Medical Academy was honored to welcome His Excellency Mr. I.K. Sailas Thangal, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Republic of Kazakhstan, on an official visit. This important meeting marked a new stage in the cooperation between the Academy and the Embassy of India.
During the visit, His Excellency met with the Academy’s leadership, vice-rectors, and heads of relevant departments. The discussions covered SKMA’s international activities, the learning conditions, safety, and support measures for students from India.
As part of the visit program:
an official meeting between the Ambassador and the Rector took place, during which issues of strengthening bilateral cooperation were discussed;
an extended dialogue with the Academy’s leadership was held;
the guests toured the academic buildings and laboratories, familiarizing themselves with the infrastructure;
an open meeting with Indian students was conducted, where His Excellency delivered a welcoming speech and answered students’ questions.
In her remarks, the Rector emphasized the important role of Indian students within the academic community and expressed interest in further strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The visit of the Ambassador of India became another significant step in SKMA’s efforts to expand its international partnerships. The Academy remains committed to further developing cooperation with India in the fields of education, science, and culture.
